It is commonly expressed that proper immobilization of the patient’s shoulders is critical to the success of head, neck & shoulder radiation treatments.
The carbon fiber DSPS-Prominent® fully encapsulates both the top and bottom of the patient’s head, neck, and shoulders, supporting excellent positioning & immobilization throughout the patient’s course of treatment. The DSPS-Prominent® features the same patented, ultra-low shrinkage thermoplastics as the original DSPS® line. Various models are available, including open-face and long-hair masks.
An alternative approach is using the DSPS-Prominent® occipital mask as the sole patient positioning aid in conjunction with surface-guided treatments, without a top mask, reducing patient anxiety due to the facial mask.
